At the age of 51, I have opened many new offices and I don’t mean another office, I mean opening new offices at 51 years old from scratch. Opening new offices has become sort of a hobby. My first practice was called Lighthouse Point, and then I closed that practice and moved across the street where I opened Canton Spine Center. I took a 5-year break from chiropractic and after that, Patrick and I opened two offices in Panama, yes the country. Finally we moved back to the states and we opened our office, Chiro100, in Ocean City, Maryland. After about two years in Ocean City, Patrick and I were asked to come to Den Haag, Netherlands. We closed our incredibly successful practice and headed to Europe.
OK, so why would I close my practice to move to The Hague?
Well that’s simple, I always wanted to live in Holland and to be honest, what I was being offered, seemed too good to be real. Now fast-forward ONE year, it was too good to be real! So what does someone do when they find themselves living jobless in another country? You open another office. This time called, “Gewoon Chiropractie,” and this time done with 22 years of experience and I mean both successes and failures.
Why is this time different?
Simple – I have a team of people that are on the same page as me and we all have similar goals and dreams. “Gewoon” is a Dutch word that means “Simply or Just.” I chose that word because it personifies who and what we are, “Just Chiropractic.” We will do only one thing at Gewoon Chiropractie, and nothing else. We will find and correct subluxations and teach our patients what their bodies can do and in the end we will show them how to use their new bodies and how to help maintain them for the rest of their lives.
Now, how do I know that this is going to be the practice I have always wanted?
Well, they all were practices I have always wanted, but this time I am not alone. This time I have my husband and my team. This time, I have the past 4 years, since my father’s death, where I have learned more about chiropractic than I have in the previous 47 years. I have my father’s words in my ears and in my heart and I have the true meaning of chiropractic to share. That being – Chiropractic connects man the physical with man the mental/spiritual. It allows you to be the best version of yourself and it gives you the POTENTIAL to be and do whatever it is you want.
You see, when it is your job to make sure that the brain can speak to the tissue cells, and the tissue cells can speak to the brain, you realize you have one of the most important jobs in the world. What is that job you ask? Communication! I allow the brain to communicate with the body and the body to communicate with the brain so that it can do what it was designed to do and that is keep you balanced and capable of adapting to your environment. That is It!
So to wrap this up, “Why am I opening another office?”
Simple, I have to! The Universe has put me here for a reason, and seeing that there is really only one thing I know how to do expertly, find and correct SUBLUXATIONS, I will ADJUST!
