What are your rights and obligations?
You have rights and obligations when you interact with your doctor. These rights and obligations are laid down in the Medical Treatment Contracts Act (WGBO).
Your rights as a patient:

Right to information about your illness, treatment and possible consequences.

Right to decide for yourself whether you want to be treated.

Right to privacy; healthcare providers must treat your (medical) data confidentially.

Your duties as a patient:

Obligation to provide the healthcare provider with clear and complete information about your health and complaints, so that they can make a proper diagnosis and provide expert treatment.

Obligation to follow advice and comply with agreements made.

Obligation to pay the costs of care.
